Dana Powell

Dana Powell

Dana began her professional career as a physical therapist, working for 15 years in sports and orthopedic clinics. She specialized in treating running and dance related injuries and served as the Physiotherapist to Ballet BC for 4 years. Dana’s experience as a physical therapist, along with her personal struggle with health-related issues, highlighted for her the intimate connection between our bodies, our thoughts and emotions, and our spirit. Studying world religions, practicing meditation, chanting and yoga, and pursing further education became her gateways to personal healing and wellness and in turn to inspired her to deepen her knowledge so she could be in service to others in a new way. Over the last 5 years Dana has completed a Certificate in Applied Spiritual Counselling from an Interfaith Seminary, become a Reiki Master, studied at the Centre for Action and Contemplation, and has completed her 200 hr yoga teacher training through SOYA. Dana’s hopes that her extensive knowledge of the body, her experience as someone who has lived with chronic pain, survived cancer and trauma, along with her lifelong quest for the “holy grail” will offer a rich and colourful yoga experience.
