Meet The Teachers

Kassandra Morrison

Kassandra Morrison

began her yoga practice in 1996 with Iyengar yoga and has since studied Okido, Kundalini, Flow, Ashtanga, Kriya, and Yin yoga. She is a certified Shioki Yoga therapist and has been teaching yoga since 2002. Her teachings are a fusion of the various styles and systems of yoga she has studied. Her classes combine dynamic exercises for joint health and immunity with static poses for strength and flexibility. In addition to yoga, Kassandra spends a lot of time in meditation and has been fortunate enough to participate in three separate long term meditation retreats. She was initiated as Swami Kripananda in the Bhairava lineage of Rishikesh.
Sanaz Busink

Sanaz Busink

completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Semperviva Yoga College in Vancouver, BC. Her teaching style focuses on the mental, emotional and spiritual side of yoga rather than just the physical side. She has studied with Seane Corn, Sianna Sherman, Eoin Finn, Mara Branscomb, Madhuri Phillips, Baba Ram Dev as well as Sama Fabian, Cameron Gilley, Sara Manwing Jones, Christina Selda, Kristin Campbell, Josee Fontaine. Her classes consist of guided meditation, breathing exercises, and gentle yoga movements with longer holds all while sharing eastern philosophy, Indian mythology, poetry and stories from around the world.
Jen Siyo-Wing

Jen Siyo-Wing

Jen is a 200 Hour yoga teacher from Edmonton, AB. She took her teacher training under the guidance of Rameen Peyrow at the Sattva School of Yoga back in 2015, and has dedicated herself to facilitating space to allow for healing, grounding, and movement. She loves the simple comforts of sharing a mobile home with her partner, enjoying a hike through nature, or sipping on a spicy cup of chai. Jen’s mission is to engage others through energetic movement, yoga, breathe work, and meditation while providing the tools needed for natural self healing."
Shauna Sprules

Shauna Sprules

Shauna shares Prenatal, Mom & Baby and Family Yoga at Purple Lotus. She discovered yoga as a young teen though her own mother and has continued to embrace yoga and learn from a variety of amazing teachers over the past 25 years. Her path to teaching began in 2002 after completing 200 hr certification under the teachings of Baba Hari Dass at the Saltspring Centre of Yoga and 500 hr training with SOYA in 2004. She has specialized certifications in prenatal, postnatal, restorative and children's yoga and is trained as a birth doula. Shauna is always inspired by the power of pregnancy, birth and new motherhood and though yoga hopes to help bring strength, confidence, spiritual awareness and calm to women and families. The cycles of nature and wisdom of yoga inspire her daily in the practice of life.
Karla Blocka

Karla Blocka

Karla Blocka is a 200 Hour E-RYT yoga teacher, mother and wellness entrepreneur. She has been practicing yoga and meditation for 15 years and has been teaching yoga for the past 9 years. She loves sharing the gift of yoga as an opportunity to reconnect, de-stress, and restore vitality as we navigate through the demands of everyday life. Her training includes 200 Hours Hatha Yoga training from Prana Yoga College (Shakti Mhi), advanced training in Integrative Yoga Therapy at Kripalu (Joseph Lepage, Maria Mendola, Jennifer Reis), and Yoga for Chronic Pain (Neal Pearson). By showing up on our yoga mats we are making a conscious choice to live a deeper life, and Karla’s classes encourage participants to explore and experience full awareness of all aspects of ourselves and release resistance through breath and movement.
Lorna McGill

Lorna McGill

Lorna completed Shioki Yoga Teacher training in 2003, followed by SOYA 500 in 2007 specialising in Yoga for Runners & Athletes. She has attended many workshops and trainings with yoga masters such Erich Schiffman, David Swenson, Rod Stryker, Dharma Mittra, Mark and Joanne Darby, Nikki Doane & Pam Radar. She is also a certified Stand Up Paddleboard yoga instructor with SUP Vancouver (2014). Lorna welcomes and embraces all level of students in her classes as they explore their own individual yogic journey!
