Yoga and Anxiety Workshop

An Ancient Practice for Modern Times

Saturday, November 26th

In this three-and-a-half-hour workshop, we will be looking at anxiety, the benefits of yoga for those experiencing anxiety, and anxiety through the lens of yoga philosophy. This workshop will include yoga Asana (poses), Pranayama (breathwork), and meditation, which will be suitable for all bodies and yoga experience.

Amy Sztupovszky, RYT500, owns the yoga studio Wild Daisy Yoga in Oliver, BC. Amy has worked with her own chronic anxiety for over a decade. The benefits Amy received from yoga through her journey with anxiety are what led her to become a yoga teacher. Yoga is her medicine. Through dedicated yoga practice and learning the philosophy of yoga and how it could help alleviate anxiety, Amy has been able to move from a chronic state of anxiety to anxiety as a regular emotion. Her passion lies in sharing the tools she has learned through her practice and her research. Her hope is that yoga just might be your medicine too.

Please bring your yoga mat and any favourite props or blankets you like to use to help support you as well as your journal and a pen (handouts will be provided with space for reflection if you do not have a journal or you forget it).
